Charlotte W. Coffin, 96, longtime Epping resident and past holder of the Boston Post Cane, died in Newburyport, MA on July 9, 2017. She was born in Derry, NH on July 20, 1920, daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Tewksbury) Hall.
Charlotte grew up in Brentwood and moved to Epping after the completion of building their home in 1954. She was a dedicated wife and mother and was involved in many local activities. She volunteered with the Rockingham County Meals on Wheels program for 34 years, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Epping for 46 years, a member of the Epping Grange for 82 years and also a Brentwood Senior member for 24 years. Charlotte helped start the Epping Watson Senior Assoc. and was a past vice president. She was active in the Brentwood Baptist Church and was a past president of the Home Extension program in Brentwood. Charlotte worked on the first hot lunch program at the original elementary school and at the high school (Watson Academy) in Epping. She loved making crafts, flower arranging, reading and swimming.
Her granddaughter, Bonnie (Travis) McMahon and great-granddaughter, Caitlyn (St. Laurent) Beattie will greatly miss their weekly outings and craft projects.
Charlotte was predeceased by her son, Charles S. Coffin in 1964, her husband, Fred L. Coffin in 1977 and her daughter Judith Boisvert last year. She is survived by three granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren and her son-in-law, Robert Boisvert of Epping.
A graveside service will be on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Prospect Cemetery in Epping. A memorial service will be Friday, July 14th, at 11:00 AM, at the Brentwood Baptist Church on North Rd. in Brentwood.
