Curtis Alan Laros (Curt) 58, passed away from a heart attack in Exeter, NH, on August 30, 2019, while walking his dogs. He was born February 8,1961, in Allentown, PA, son of Harold and Linda (Craine) Laros.
Curt and his sister Barbara spent their early years in Allentown and he attended the Hiram Dodd School. In 1973 the family moved to Lebanon, NH. Curt graduated from Lebanon High School, Class of 1979. He loved to play sports ever since he was in Little League. In his teen years he played Senior Babe Ruth baseball. In high school, Curt played soccer and also was in the high school marching band, playing drums and serving as the drum major. In his spare time he loved to ski and spent many winter days at Whaleback and Storrs Hill. He attended UConn on a partial soccer scholarship. Curt had a long career within the hotel industry, mainly moving around the greater New England area for the past 25 years.
Curt had a couple favorite stomping grounds -- Salute Restaurant in Hartford, CT, and Moe's Cigar Lounge in Rochester, NY. Curt and Shannon enjoyed taking long rides thru the country and/or city in the areas in which they lived over the past 5 years (many moves). They also liked going to yard sales and thrift stores in search of odd & unique items. Going to visit their grandchildren was very important to Curt. Mayah & Jackson (Spanky) visited & would stay a few days with their Pappy/Pup Pup and Bubba. Curt so enjoyed that special one-on-one time with each of them. Another favorite time he enjoyed was "Bloody Mary Sunday" in which he would make Eggs Benedict for himself and his "Shanny" on most Sundays. Curt was, and is, loved by his wife, parents, sister, daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws as well as close long time friends. Curt loved them all very much!
Above everything, Curt loved his family and received great satisfaction as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. His hobbies revolved around watching all kinds of professional sports -- especially the Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was a fanatic Patriots fan. He and several other Patriots Super Fans enjoyed having Curt as the master of their Patriots pre and post-game tailgate parties. He enjoyed the finer things in life like a good patriots game. He was always a pet lover and spent a year raising a black lab who was going to be trained to be a seeing eye dog. His current dogs, Brooke (126 pounds) and Lilli (4 pounds) and cat, Lovie (doesn't like to be weighed) brought much enjoyment to him and all the family. For several years Curt was very involved in Akita pet rescue activities.
Curt is survived by his loving wife, Shannon M.
