Dorothy Mae Tuttle Ellison, 99, formerly of 5 Brentwood Road, Exeter, died Monday, February 12, 2018 at Langdon Place of Dover. She was the widow of Robert Ellison.
Born in Nottingham, NH, she was the daughter of the late Lorie Tuttle and Sadie Roderick Tuttle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lillian Tuttle Fernald, Leo Tuttle, Karl Tuttle, Wendell Tuttle, Jesse Tuttle and Fannie Mae Tuttle.
She was a life long member of the Exeter United Methodist Church and a graduate of Robinson Seminary in Exeter. After attending UNH she worked in the Exeter Handkerchief Factory and was a volunteer at the Exeter Hospital. Her avid interest in history and in her community was reflected in her memberships in the Exeter Historical Society, Exeter Area General Federation of Women's Clubs, Eastern Star and the NH Farm Museum. She worked beside her husband as the co-owner of Ellison's Greenhouses.
She is survived by two children, Patricia Washburne of Middleton, NH and Kenneth Ellison and his wife, Estella of Goode, Virginia; two grandchildren, Kristine Biagiotti-Bridges with Brian and Donald Kelsey II with Shannon McNalley; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Biagiotti and Shawn and Patrick Kelsey.
A celebration of the life of Dorothy Mae Tuttle Ellison will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Exeter United Methodist Church, 307 Epping Road, Exeter, NH
