Nancy June Griffin Roberts passed at her home after a lengthy illness on August 12th, 2019. She was 69 years old.
Nancy was born on June 9th, 1950 in Stoneham, MA. She grew up in the Golden Hills neighborhood of Saugus, MA and was a 1968 graduate of Saugus High School. Nancy had very fond memories of growing up in the Golden Hills and remained in contact with many of her childhood friends up to the time of her passing.
In 1979, Nancy and her husband Arthur and their children moved to Deerfield, NH where they built their family home and business, Art's Auto Repair. Nancy loved Deerfield and living in a small community that her family was so involved in.
Nancy was a hot ticket. She had a big, warm and humorous personality. She loved people. She mothered everyone around her and had the knack for reaching out to people and at the exact moment that they needed a friend.
Nancy loved music and instilled a passion for it in her children. She was also an avid NASA fan and enjoyed traveling to FL to watch launches. She loved to cook; garden; sew; read; play bingo; travel; and catch up with friends online.
Nancy loved Jesus and also instilled this passion in her children and those around her. Her faith was fostered by her most beloved aunt, Doris Rogers Dahme of Andover, MA whom she loved like a second mother. Nancy had a special place in her heart for the entire Dahme family who were so precious to her.
Nancy is predeceased by her father, Charles Griffin of Cork, Ireland, her mother Mildred Rogers Griffin Lyons of Wakefield, MA, two brothers who died in childhood and her older sister Linda Griffin Crowley of Marshfield, MA. Nancy searched many years for her sister Linda's family and was very blessed to have them in her life the last few years.
Nancy is survived by the love of her life, her husband Arthur Roberts of Deerfield, NH whom she met at 14 years old and married at 18. They recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Nancy died in his arms.
Nancy is also survived by her son Shawn Roberts and his partner Eveline Fye of Deerfield, NH; daughter Cheryl Brady and son-in-law Patrick Brady of Center Barnstead, NH; and her daughter and her main caregiver/angel Kelly Roberts of Deerfield, NH.
Nancy is further survived by her best friend of over 30 years, Deb Gilbert of Weare, NH whom she loved like a sister.
Nancy leaves behind many friends, family members, neighbors and former coworkers who will miss her warmth and humor.
Nancy did not wish to have a wake or a funeral. She wanted to be cremated and have her ashes spread in her garden where her beloved wolf, Axl is buried as well as in the Golden Hills, the Atlantic Ocean and Bermuda, where she loved to vacation.
Nancy and her family raised wolves in the 1980's and 1990's and she was a lifelong supporter of wolf conservation in the US.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center in her name.
