EDGEWATER, FL - Richard "Dick" Donald Turner, 80, of Edgewater, FL (formerly of Raymond, NH), died Thursday, October 13, 2016, in Daytona Beach, FL.
Born in Manchester, NH on May 18, 1936, he was the son of Frederic & Laurette (Gelinas) Turner.
Richard, who served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was owner and operator of Dick's Chevron Station in Raymond, NH, before moving to Florida. He had served as Tax Collector for the Town of Raymond, as well as being a member of the Raymond Police Department, Fire Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Association. As an Engineering Technician for Honeywell, Inc., Richard worked on aircraft instruments for the Gemini & Apollo Programs.
Richard was Past Exalted Ruler for the Margate, FL Elks Lodge, past President of the Dolphin Athletic Club of Edgewater, FL, and member of the Amvets Post 2 and American Legion Post 285 of Edgewater, FL.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marlene Jane (Kreger) Turner, and brothers James & Ronald Turner of Edgewater, FL. He is survived by daughter Deborah Lynn (Turner) Allison of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, son William Richard, Sr. & his wife Valerie A. Turner of Oxford, NY, granddaughter Kristina A. (Turner) Lilly of Buena Vista, VA, grandson William R. Turner, Jr. of Oxford, NY, step-granddaughter Jillian A. Kingsbury, of Somersworth, NH, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, NH.
