Richard W. MacCallum "Dick", 91, entered the larger
life on July 27, 2018 from his home in Stratham, NH.
He was born July 8, 1927 in Boston, MA, son of the late Cecil L.
MacCallum and Alice (Page) MacCallum.
Dick grew up in Massachusetts and was a graduate of
North Quincy High School. He also attended the Manter Hall School in
Boston, MA before attending and graduating from the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst, Class of 1952. Dick served in the United
States Coast Guard from 1945-1946 in World War II. He also served in
the United States Navy from 1953-1954 in the Korean Conflict. On
September 18, 1954, he married the love of his life, Marcia Wylie.
They lived in Marshfield, MA for 12 years, Seabrook, TX for 11 years
and then permanently resided in Stratham, NH since 1985. Dick retired
as a sales representative after 31 years of employment with Warnaco
He was a Past-President of the Duxbury, MA Rotary
Club, he started and was President of the Friends of the Wiggin
Memorial Library in Stratham, NH. Dick was also past Senior Warden,
Lay Reader, and Eucharistic Minister at his parish of Christ Episcopal
Church in Exeter, NH. He was a big supporter of our military and was
an active member of the Pease Greeters, a dedicated group of local
volunteers who greet our troops who are coming from and going to
various combat zones. Dick was extremely proud of his service and
proud of all who served and especially those who have paid the
Dick was pre-deceased by his twin-brother, Robert G.
MacCallum and brother, Gilbert P. MacCallum.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia W. MacCallum,
daughter, Elizabeth Stillion, daughter, Susan Parnell, daughter, Nancy
Doehring, 7 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service with military honors will be held
on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 1:30 PM at the NH State Veterans
Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August
11, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, Exeter, NH.
