Robert "Bob" Nolan Burley Jr., 64, passed away on August 1, 2019 at his home in Exeter, NH.
He was born June 1, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN., son of the late Robert Burley and Berniece C. (Swallers) Burley.
Bob grew up in Indianapolis, IN until he was 14. They moved to Exeter, NH where Bob attended Exeter High School. He enlisted into the United States Army near the end of the Vietnam War. He served honorably until 1973. Bob worked for Asplundh as a tree trimmer, then spent the majority of his professional career as a general contractor in construction and building homes. He worked for Squire Construction. His last employment was as a truck driver delivering medical supplies. Bob was attending church at the United Methodist Church of Exeter. His hobbies included watching television and old movies, having his morning coffee, and taking morning drives to the beach. He lived the majority of his life in Exeter, NH and was formerly of Manchester, NH.
Mr. Burley was a former member of the American Legion Post# 32 of Exeter.
In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his son Robert Burley III and his Japanese Chin dog, Charlie.
Bob is survived by his loving significant other of 29 years, Kathy Melendy of Exeter, NH, 2 daughters, Patricia Burley and Cynthia Burley both of Patten, ME, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Kathy Johnson of Mooresville, IN., JoAnn Babcock of Elgin, OK., Debbie Jones of Palmdale, CA., 2 brothers, Richard Burley of Brooklyn, NY, James Francis of Newhall, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Old Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr., Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
