North Hampton, NH
Jane Abbot Jackson, 77, of 9 Sylvan Road, died on December 16, 2012 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born December 7, 1935 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Davenport and Emma (Johnson) Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson attended school in Quincy, MA, the University of Massachusetts, and was graduated from the Hitchcock Secretarial School and the University of New Hampshire. At various times, she worked as a legal secretary and was an in-home tutor to high school students unable to attend school. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, and the Piscataqua Pioneers, in which she served as president.
Survivors include her two sons, E. David Hanson of Kittery Point, ME, and Peter D. Hanson of Dover, NH; her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Jane and Michael J. Fuller of Kittery Point, ME; her sister, Carol Trefry of Lynnfield, MA; nieces, nephews, and also her beloved pet maltese Cecily. She was recently predeceased by her brother, Davenport Jackson, who died on December 2, 2012.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on January 5, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the Exeter Inn, located on 90 Front St., in Exeter, NH. Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be held in the Little River Cemetery in North Hampton, NH at a later date.
