Gail F. Scalzo, 66, died on January 11, 2017 at the Exeter Hospital. She was born on July 8, 1950 in Weehawken, NJ, the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Laraway) Riser. Gail grew up in Secaucus, NJ and resided in Nutley, NJ before moving to Epping, NH 14 years ago.
Gail began working for CBS Sports in 1969 and later rolled that into a 14 year career in the marketing and promotions department of the National Football League. After moving to Epping, she put her love of animals to use working at Nakodo Kennel in Candia, NH, and caring for horses at the Night Magic Farm in Kensington, NH.
Gail was also an active member of the American Legion Post 51 Auxiliary in Epping where she was very involved with the Poppy Program, helping to raise awareness and respect for veterans.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Richard Scalzo of Epping, NH; her sister Eileen Wendlandt of Old Bridge, NJ; and her beloved pet Akita's, Liam and Molly.
Services for Gail will be held at a later date. Brewitt Funeral Service, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH is assisting the family.
