James "Jamie" P. Ross Sr., AKA "Big Guy", 61, died on January 12, 2017 at the Exeter Hospital after a lengthy battle with illnesses. He was born in Winthrop, MA on May 11, 1955, the son of the late James E. and Theresa M. (Nash) Ross.
Jamie grew up in Lynnfield, MA and has resided in Kensington since 1995. For many years he was the owner and operator of his own industrial salvage business. An avid reader, he enjoyed studying military history and building models. He was also known as a legendary storyteller.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen A. Ross; sisters, Julie Ross, Anne Carrerio, Kathy DelRossi; brothers, Tom Ross, David Ross, John Ross, Paul Ross, Richard Ross, Daniel Ross, Peter Ross, Brian Ross, and Kenny Ross; 2 sister-in- laws, Donna Slaughter and Elaine Lawton; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Dennis Ross, and his son James P. Ross Jr., who died in 2008.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 5-7 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 7 PM at the funeral home.
