Edward W. Johnson, 84, died on January 13, 2017 at the Martin Memorial Center in Stuart, FL. He was born on July 17, 1932 in Medford, MA, the son of the late Edward J. and Violette (Quirk) Johnson.
Formerly of Andover, MA, as well as Rye and Exeter, NH, Edward has been a resident of Stuart, FL for the last 7 years. He has worked as a banker for most of his life, having been a senior VP and Chief Financial Officer at Indian Head Bank and Trust in Exeter before he retired. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Exeter Country Club and the Abenaqui Country Club in Rye. He was also a longtime member of the Exeter Lions Club.
He was predeceased by his son Michael E. Johnson who died in 1984 and his wife Margaret K. (Carson) Johnson who died in 2007. He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen A. Johnson and her husband Michael Ushko of Center Moriches, NY, and Gail M. Johnson of Summerville, SC; two grandchildren, Emily Ushko and Richard Johnson; his brother David Johnson of Hampton, NH; and his longtime companion Mel Connors of Stuart, FL.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017, from 5-8 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 9:30 AM at the Exeter Cemetery, located on Linden St.in Exeter, NH.
