Gladys M. Noyes, 89, died January 18, 2017 at her home in Exeter, NH.

She was born August 28, 1927 in Worcester, MA., daughter of the late Ragnar and Agnes (Stevens) Almstrom.

She was the youngest of nine children. Gladys was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester, MA. On June 27, 1947, she married Leroy F. Noyes and they lived many happy years in West Boylston, MA where they raised their two children. Gladys worked in West Boylston for many years, initially as a bookkeeper for the Electric Lights Utility Co., a school librarian at the Major Edwards Elementary School and later as a children's librarian with the town library. She and Leroy moved to Eastham, MA. where Gladys worked on catalogs and materials for the National Seashore. They also resided in Northborough, MA. for a time.

Gladys was a former active member of the First Congregational Church of West Boylston. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and her hobbies included, sewing, knitting and reading. Most importantly she loved spending time

with her family especially at the beach.

Gladys was predeceased by her husband, her son, Kenneth Noyes, and all eight of her siblings, Alice Hellstrom, Ruth Almstrom, Bill Almstrom, Howard Almstrom, Russell Almstrom, George Almstrom, Chester Almstrom, and Doris Noyes.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Zickell, 6 grandchildren, Thomas Zickell, Christopher Zickell, Stephanie Wade, Jonathan Noyes, Ashley Rand and Lauren Noyes, 4 great grandchildren, Ella Wade, Sophia Wade, Alexandra Wade, and Georgia Wade, and many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 at the First Congregational Church, 26 Central St., West Boylston, MA..

Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stratham NH SPCA or Rockingham County NH Meals on Wheels.
