James Phillip Rioux "Jim", 53, died January 31, 2017 in Hampton, NH after a long illness. He was born August 30, 1963 in Salem, MA., son of the late Jean Paul Rioux and Dorothy (Mavrakos) Rioux.
Jim grew up in Salem, MA. He graduated from St. Johns Prep in Danvers, MA., Class of 1981 and Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Class of 1985 with a BS in Marine Transportation. Jim was honorably discharged after 6 years of service as an officer in the Naval Reserve. He had a long and successful career in the shipping and marine transportation industry in Portsmouth, NH and Boston, MA.
As an avid skier, Jim was a member of the Ski Patrol at Black Mountain and Gunstock Mountain for more than 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Seana (Stanton) Rioux of Brentwood and his 4 children, Alexander (23), Samantha (21), Justin (17) and Gabriella (14), His sister Jeanne O'Hurley and her family of Brentwood, NH and a brother John P Rioux and his family of Stony Point, NY.
Funeral services are private with a public Celebration of Life planned for the spring.
