Carl David Van Kampen, 76, died February 13, 2017 at Langdon Place of Exeter, NH. He was born November 26, 1940 in Chicago, IL., son of the late Andrew and Henrietta (Swzart) Van Kampen.
Carl grew up in Cicero, IL. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964 and served overseas during the Vietnam War. He received an associate degree from Devry University in Chicago. Carl's career as a tester and telephone builder spanned over 40 years being employed by Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies. He had resided in Brentwood, NH since the late 1980's.
Mr. Van Kampen was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Brentwood.
His hobbies included 10-pin bowling in N. Reading, MA. and Raymond, NH. Carl was an avid model train enthusiast and belonged to several train clubs.
He was predeceased by his three siblings, Andy Van Kampen, Martha Van Kampen, and Gladys Fidonik, and an infant brother, Donald Van Kampen.
Carl is survived by 14 nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Geneva Van Kampen.
There are no calling hours.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Brentwood.
Spring burial will be in the Brentwood Cemetery.
