Lucille C. Moore, 97, died on February 11, 2017 at the Exeter Hospital. She was born on October 24, 1919 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of the late Frank H. and Eleanor N. (Davis) Cass. She grew up in the Weirs Beach area of Laconia and was also a graduate of Laconia High School.
In 1945 she married Alfred E. Moore and in 1949 they moved to Newport, NH where they owned and operated Moore & Emerson, a pyrofax gas business they ran until 1963. It was then that she began a career that lasted the next two decades as a secretary and later business administrator at the Newport Hospital.
While residing in Newport, she was a member of the South Congregational Church, Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, and was Past President of the Business Professional Women's Club. She was also very involved with the Richard's Free Library.
Lucille was a world traveler who loved experiencing new things in different places. In 1978 she was predeceased by her husband Alfred, and in 2007, she moved to Exeter, NH to be closer to her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn and her husband Anthony Clough of Hopkinton, NH, and Sheryl and her husband Dean Scott of Exeter, NH; 4 grandchildren, Adam Clough and his wife Giao Le, Jarrod and his wife Keri Clough, Amy Scott and her husband Robert Bent, and Keri and her husband Mark Duthe; 4 great grandchildren, Maile Clough, Maleia Clough, Grace Bent, and Robert Frederick Bent; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 1 PM at the Congregational Church in Exeter, located on 21 Front St., Exeter, NH. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport, NH in the spring. Brewitt Funeral Service, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH is handling the arrangements.
