Robert F. Wesson, 64, passed away on March 2, 2017, at his home in Exeter, NH. Born March 23, 1952, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Laurence G. Wesson and Eleanor Fessenden Roelse Wesson.
Robert spent his youth in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maine where he graduated from the Lincoln Academy in Newcastle. He attended Nasson College, or "Camp Nasson," as he called it. In the 1980s he attended the Control Data Institute in Philadelphia and found his passion for computer programming. Throughout his career as a programmer he worked for Kingston Warren, Thompson Center Arms, and Kitchen Etc.
Robert had a deep love of the ocean that was forged as child and teenager during the summers he spent with his parents and siblings in Bremen Maine - first on Bremen Long Island and then on Oar Island. As an adult, he enjoyed many summers with his family on Oar Island and would often meet his children & grandchildren at Saunders in Rye for lunch.
Robert was a collector of oddities and he loved to read, mostly spy novels and mysteries as having a great enthusiasm for games of all kinds - video, board, cards - he enjoyed them all. He also enjoyed crosswords and blowing things up – entertaining his children on the Fourth of July with a wide array of fireworks.
Robert also had a laugh that could fill a room, a penchant for mischief, and a fierce love for his family, especially his two children, Crissy and Rob, and his long-time partner, Gail, who he was whole-heartedly dedicated to.
He is survived by Gail S. "Lass" Wilson; along with his two children; Crissy and Michael Brooks of Manchester, New Hampshire and Robert S. and Katy Wesson of Holliston, Massachusetts; 3 grandchildren, Kenzie Brooks, Sydney Brooks, and Jacob Wesson; three siblings, Laurence N. Wesson of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Anne R. Wesson of Cumberland, Maine, and John M. Wesson of Yarmouth, Maine; and several loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
Memorial services for Robert are scheduled for May 6, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Rye Harbor Pavilion, 1730 Ocean Blvd., Rye, NH 03870.
