Randy J. Marcotte, 56 died April 15, 2017 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford MA.
Randy was born in Exeter, NH, son of Norman H. Marcotte and the late Elaine [Maynard] Marcotte. In addition to his mother, Randy was preceded in death by his two sisters, Lorraine Wallace and Sharon White
Randy grew up in West Epping and attended Epping schools.
Randy enlisted in the Marine Corps and honorably served from 1977 -1980 upon the USS Inchon.
After his discharge from the Military, Randy lived in Exeter.
Randy was a long haul truck driver for many years hauling everything from the Patriot missiles, to pre-fab homes and finally working for Abenaqui Carriers hauling fuel for many years.
Randy loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Randy would ride as much as possible even loading up for a week at Turning Stone New York where he entered many pool tournaments.
Randy joined the R.A. Mitchell American Legion Post 51 as a Son of the American Legion. There he held many positions in the Squadron.
From 1991 – 1992, Randy became the New Hampshire Department Detachment Commander For the Sons of The American Legion
In October of 2008 Randy was instrumental in getting Post 51 an American Legion Riders Chapter where he served as the first chapter director. All across The United States, the American Legion Riders bring the love of motorcycling to the Legion to aid in the fundraising for veterans charities
Randy is survived by his three children Norman Marcotte , Brandy Marie Marcotte, Felecia Lynn Marcotte , and several grandchildren also his Father Norman Marcotte, sister Pamela Glover and Deborah Woodward, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 5:00 -7:00pm at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping NH.
Graveside service will be held on Monday April 24, 2017 at 1:00pm at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
A procession will leave that day from the Epping American Legion Post 51 at 11:30am.
