Chester S. Acres Jr., 67, died suddenly on May 15, 2017 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. He was born on July 18, 1949 in Malden, MA, son of Catherine M. (Mckinnon) Acres and the late Chester S. Acres Sr.
Chester grew up in Malden, MA. He enlisted into The United States Army and served bravely and honorably in the jungles of Vietnam. His courage saved the lives of numerous comrads. In 1974, he married Jean Campbell. They resided in Hampstead and Derry, NH before becoming permanent residents of Raymond, NH. In which they resided for the past 35 years.
Chester was a workaholic and was second to none when it came to his work ethic. He was a proud and ever-steady provider and support system for his family. Chester worked for General Electric in Lynn, MA for 36 years as a electrician and only recently retired on April 01, 2017. He also held his Journeyman Electrician's license in both NH and MA and he often took on electrical work for others on the side.
Chester was always heavily influenced by music. In his younger years, he was the bass player in the band-"The Crescendo's". With 3 hours of driving a day, he would often listen to Patsy Cline and James Brown on the Sirius XM 50's satellite station. Chester was also a proud Patriot and he was a lifetime member of the Hampstead VFW. His other hobbies included fishing, hunting and gardening. He was also a member of the NRA.
Mr. Acres was devastated by the sudden death of his loving wife, Jean on September 11, 2016 for which he never truly recovered.
He is survived by his son, Chester S. Acres III of Raymond, NH, step-daughter, Amy P. Murray of Bradenton, FL, his mother, Catherine Acres of New Smyrna Beach, FL, 2 grandchildren, Ethan Acres and David Coon , brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Mary Alice Acres of Plaistow, NH, brother, Stephen Acres of New Smyrna Beach, FL, sister, Beverly Fisher of Derry, NH, sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Lloyd Wormstead of Saugus, MA , his brother-in-law, James F. Campbell of Plaistow, NH, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping, NH.
Burial with military honors will follow in the New Pine Grove Cemetery, 2 Epping St, Raymond, NH.
