Doyle Howard Sloan, 81 of Amesbury, MA, formerly of Epping, NH, died on June 17, 2017. He was born in Newcastle, TX on June 28, 1935, son of Andrew and Adele (Hardin) Tetmeyer.
Howard grew up in Newcastle, TX and was a graduate of the local high school. After his schooling he entered the Air Force and honorably served four years. Howard worked as a custodial manager for the Town of Saugus, MA for 26 years before his retirement. Howard was a member of the American Legion Post 51 in Epping, NH. He liked collecting baseball caps from all the places he visited over the years and enjoyed listening to country music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Predeceased by his wife, Rosaline M. Sloan in 2013, he is survived by six children, Leah Stone and her husband James of Amesbury, MA, Sarah Daley and her husband Gregg of Kensington, NH, Doyle Sloan, Jr. and his wife Melanie of Fremont, NH and Sheila Tierney of Esterio, FL; step-sons, Edward Dobie and his wife Carol of Georgetown, MA and Kenneth Dobie and his wife Maggie of Salem, MA; several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
