Norah C. Levesque, 80, longtime Raymond resident, died unexpectedly on July 3, 2017. She was born on December 28, 1936, at Hammersmith Hospital in London, England, daughter of the late Michael and Mollie (Smythe) O'Connor.
Norah grew up and was educated in London, England where she met the love of her life, Romeo "Romie" E. Levesque, Jr., a Navy man who was stationed there in the late 1950s. They were married at St. Mary's of the Angels Catholic Church, Covington, London, England.
She worked for Gemini Valve in Raymond for 25 years and among other jobs had worked for Exeter Banking in Raymond for a time as well. Norah was a communicant at (the former) St. Raymond's Catholic Church and at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Epping. She was a member of the Adah Chapter 9, (later Rockingham No. 3) Order of the Eastern Star and the Raymond VFW Post 4479 Ladies Auxiliary. Norah loved to read, she enjoyed sewing and was an expert bargain-finder. She also enjoyed decorating cakes; many family members and friends will remember the numerous wedding cakes she made for them over the years.
Norah was predeceased by her husband Romeo "Romie" E. Levesque, Jr. in 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn L. Levesque of VA, her son, Michael R. Levesque Sr. of Raymond, 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, her brother, Michael J. O'Connor and his wife Moira Murphy O'Connor; Brother-in-law, Ronald C. Levesque and wife Kathy; Sister-in-law, Karen Levesque Bernier and husband Ernest; several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins, and several close friends, all whom she dearly loved.
Calling hours will be on Monday, July 10, 2017, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, at the Brewittt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St. in Raymond. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Raymond.
