Howard D. Johnson, 72, of Raymond died unexpectedly in an automobile accident on July 3, 2017. He was born in Framingham, MA on December 1, 1944, son of the late Robert B. and Verda J. (Wentzel) Johnson.
Howard grew up in Candia and Raymond, NH and was a Raymond High School graduate. He proudly served in the US Army for 20 years in Korea, Vietnam, and throughout Europe before retiring in 1983, when he received the Army Commendation Medal for his exceptionally meritorious service. He later retired from Raytheon, where he worked as a missile technician in Ramstein, Germany for 10 years. Howard enjoyed metal detecting and was an active member of the Granite State Treasure Hunters Club.
Howard was predeceased by his brother, Willis Johnson, and is survived by his sister, Verda Murray of Raymond; his niece, Linda Murray and husband Robert Drowne of Raymond; two nephews, David Murray and wife Cindy of Candia and Edmund Murray and wife Karen of Auburn; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Private services will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
