Dorothea "Dorothy" Georgia Kostas Haigh Hall passed away after a long illness on Thursday morning September 14, 2017. She was born on February 16, 1927 in New York City to George and Pauline (Maier) Kostas. She was predeceased by her first husband, John W. Haigh and her second husband, E. Leslie Hall.
Dorothy attended Barnard College and worked as an Educational Director and Special Events Director for Warner/Hathaway Company in her younger years. She was on the Epping School Board, Garden Club, Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, Conservation Commission and other town offices, and founded the annual Epping Canoe Race. She was also primarily responsible for procuring parks in Epping and donated 118 acres of forestland to a conservation easement. She enjoyed nature, travelling abroad, cooking, beating her family at scrabble, gardening and spending time in Jonesport, Maine.
She leaves behind a daughter Carole Haigh Bilodeau and son in law Daniel Bilodeau of Durham, a stepdaughter Sandra Hall Bourrie and son in law Guy Bourrie of Washingotn, Maine, a stepson David Hall and daughter in law Sydney Hall of Hope Maine. In addition grandchildren: Dylan Haigh and Kristy Martino, Brittany Bilodeau Brackett Bilodeau, Emerson Bilodeau, Willow Hall, Sky Hall and Makiko Kato, Ariel Hall and Jan Leth and Pia Walker and David Holbrook as well as several great grand children.
A celebration of life will be held at Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH, on Saturday, September 23rd at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Alzheimer's research.
