Donald Ray Earles, age 88, died Sunday, October 8, 2017. He was born December 1, 1928 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Though he lived all over the U.S., he considered Grand Junction, Co. his hometown and Texas his home state. Don was a veteran of both the Marines and the Air Force and was the first in his family to graduate from college, SMU. He was internationally recognized for his contributions to systems and support engineering as well as cost effectiveness analysis and life cycle costing finishing his career at Raytheon in Bedford, Ma. He was probably most proud of his and his wife, Mary's work on Apollo space mission and America's landing the first man on the moon.
He is survived by his wife Mary Favre Eddins, his younger brothers Jay and Jim, his younger sister Betty Hylton, his sons Patrick and Don, Jr., his daughters Renate Sybert and Catherine (Trina) Turer, and 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered for always being a gentleman, not only captivating his audience through his natural good looks and intelligence but with his lively stories and warm hearted smiles.
