Bruce G. Allen of Epping, NH died at his home on October 13th, 2017, after a period of illness.
Born on December 7th, 1949 in Exeter, NH, the son of Frances T (Schanda) Allen and Bert John Allen of Epping. Raised in Epping, he ran the family dairy farm on Red Oak Hill his entire adult life.
The farm was his life, and he enjoyed working with cows and farming the land with his John Deere equipment. He was an avid fan of auto racing, and was proud of his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. He didn't leave the farm all that often, but when he did, he could often be found with his family at Newicks seafood restaurant in Dover, enjoying a twin lobster dinner.
As a youth, Mr. Allen won national recognition for egg production as a member of 4H
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda S. Allen, his son Bruce Allen Jr, his daughters Lisa M Allen, and Valerie S Drown, his daughter-in-law Darcy Allen, son-in-law Jake Drown, four grandsons, Wyatt, Owen and Brody Allen and Parker Drown, his sisters Kay Casavant of NJ, June Gangwer of Durham NH, brothers Bert John Allen Jr of Barrington and Frank Allen of Epping, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents and
one sister, Mae Phillips.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping with a funeral service to follow beginning at 6:00 PM.
An open house to celebrate Bruce's life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 PM at the home of Bruce and Darcy Allen Jr. at 43 Oak Hill Ln., Epping, NH
He will be laid to rest in the Allen Family Cemetery on the land he loved so much.
