Pal Diosi, 68, died February 13, 2018 at the Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH.
He was born April 14, 1949 in Budapest, Hungary, son of the late Lorant and Clara (Stern) Diosi.
Pal was an only child and he grew up in Hungary. Pal earned his certification from secondary school in the Tool and Die industry following in the footsteps of his father. In 1971, he and his best friend Andras Gergelyi defected to a refugee camp in Rome for a year before reaching the United States. Pal took employment as a waiter at Cafe Budapest and he met Sarajane "Sara" Bender. She taught him English and he taught her Hungarian. They fell in love and married in 1976. Pal spent his entire working career as a waiter in the restaurant business with his last employment of many enjoyable years was at the Colesseum Restaurant in Salem, NH. For a short time, he and Sara owned and operated Jake's City Kitchen in Dover, NH until a heart attack forced him to sell the business to lessen the strain on his health. They have resided the last 31 years in Epping, NH and they were formerly of Boston and Tyngsboro, MA.
He is survived by his wife, Sarajane Diosi, daughter, Rachel Diosi, and son, Lorant F. Diosi.
At Pal's request, there will be no formal funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
