Muriel R. Palmquist, 98, died on August 18, 2018 at the Exeter Center. She was born on March 21, 1920, in Irvington, NJ, the daughter of the late Arthur T. and Phoebe (Brown) Rodgers.
A resident of Exeter for the last 10 years, Muriel grew up in New Jersey and formerly resided in Chichester, NH and Concord, NH.
She greatly enjoyed playing tennis, golf and bridge and was a very giving person who was very devoted to helping others. In her spare time she often volunteered to help people with mental health disabilities.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, William Stewart Anderson Sr., and James Palmquist; and her son William Stewart Anderson Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Joan A. Robinson of Fremont, NH; her sonRobert Anderson of Concord, NH; her grandson Andrew Robinson and his wife Laura of Exeter, NH; 3 great grandchildren, Brianna Ford, Josef Ford, and Shelby Stubbs; many nieces and nephews; and her longtime close friend Martha Haertig of Charlottesville, VA.
A Celebration of Muriel's Life will be held at the Exeter Center, 8 Hampton RD., Exeter, NH at a later date. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Exeter Center and Rockingham VNA & Hospice for their loving care and support.
