Harold J. "Hal" Groth, 68, of Raymond, NH passed away on September 6, 2018 at the Bedford Hills Nursing Home in Bedford, NH.
Hal was born on December 28, 1949, in New Britain, CT, son of the late Carl Groth Sr. and Hazel (Morley) Groth. Hal grew up in Plainville, CT and was a graduate of Plainville High School. He served in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam War and worked for 30 years as a machinist at Arna Machine in Plainville, CT.
While attending the movie "Ghostbusters", Hal ran into his high school sweetheart. They rekindled their relationship, joined the families they had from previous marriages and were married in 1993. Hal enjoyed fishing and gardening in "Papi's Garden" and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Brenda (Shields) Groth of Raymond; his children, Robyn Ayres and husband John of Raymond, Robert Mikulak and wife Roxanne of Milton, FL, Jennifer Six and husband Ray of Mannington, WV and Jeffrey Groth of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryder and Griffin Ayres; Tiffanie, Tyler and Ryan Six; Katherine, Jasmine and Dalton Groth; his great-granddaughter, Ahrianna; his brother, Carl Groth Jr. and wife Maryjane of Plainville, CT and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond, NH, on Friday, September 14, 2018, at 12 noon.
