Obituary

Laura "Laurie" R. Stevens, 65, passed away on September 24, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, at the Portsmouth Hospital. She was born on April 17, 1953 in Exeter, NH, the daughter of the late Wendell and Laura (Irwin) Irvine.
Laurie grew up in Newton, NH and has been a longtime resident of Kingston. She formerly was employed for 20 years for Northland Forest Products in Kingston, and has worked as a teller for Service Credit Union in Epping, NH for the last 10 years.
Known by many in the community affectionately as "Grammy", Laurie enjoyed quilting and sewing, and was also well known for creating beautiful Raggedy Ann dolls. She also loved gardening and hanging out poolside with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James E. Stevens of Kingston, NH; her two daughters, Rebecca "Beccy" Daly and her husband Michael of Fremont, NH, and Christine Stevens of Pittsfield, NH; two grandchildren, Ariana and Kiersten Daly; three sisters including her twin Linda Melville of Plaistow, NH; Wendy Baker of Newton, NH, and Susan Poor of Merrimac, MA; her brother William Irvine of Portland, ME; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 6-8 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Kingston, NH.
