Leonard "Lenny" R. Hawkins, 74, a resident of Kingston, NH passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2018 at Frisbee Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born to Paul and Helen (Curran) Hawkins on December 14, 1943 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Leonard was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, who served his country proudly as a Crew Chief and helicopter aircraft mechanic working on the CH-46 "Sean Knight". Lenny found joy in his long career as a heavy equipment mechanic. Lenny loved animals and to tinker with machines. He always found a way to fix anything. As a young man, Lenny enjoyed attending races as a spectator and racing his own cars at New England Dragway.
Lenny is survived by his wife Tina Hawkins of Kingston, daughter Dawn Perry and her husband Russell Perry and their 2 children Emily and Sarah Perry of Kensington, son David Hawkins and his wife, Katie Hawkins of Newbury, MA and their daughter Amanda Hawkins from Wellesley, MA.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NHSPCA in Stratham.
