Pauline M. Donnelly Marsh, age 95, passed away December 22, 2018 at her home after a short period of declining health.

Pauline was born in Island Pond, VT on February 28, 1923 and was the daughter of Hazen Donnelly and Maud Bordeaux Donnelly. She had two brothers, Thomas and Raymond Donnelly, both of whom predeceased her.

She attended Groveton High School and also Bellows Falls High School, in Vermont where she graduated on June 11, 1941. She went to college at Mt. Saint Mary's in Hooksett, NH and received her nursing degree from Sacred Heart Hospital of Nursing in Manchester, NH on October 21, 1945.

Pauline married Robert Marsh of Groveton on May 19, 1946 by a Justice of the Peace and then again on December 22, 1946 in St. Francis Church in Groveton, NH. Together they had seven children. She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Pinder of Gorham, NH; Patricia Gagnon of Sandown, NH and her husband, Arthur; Mary Brown of Bedford, NH and her husband, Kevin; Paula Kirk of Derry, NH and sons, Robert Marsh of Roseville, CA and William Marsh of Oceanside, CA and his wife, Henrietta. Pauline's daughter, Elizabeth Currier, predeceased her in 2012.

Pauline had nine grandchildren, Marilyn Drinkwater of Owls Head, ME who she raised as a daughter; Michelle and Sherry Gagnon of Derry, NH; Forrest (Moe) Lambert of Orange Park, FL; Kathleen Miller of Bedford, NH; Brianna Kirk of Derry, NH; Ryan Marsh of Santa Margarita, CA; Justin Marsh of San Marcos, CA and Melissa Marsh of Oceanside, CA. She also had fourteen great-grandchildren.

Pauline worked at the Exeter Hospital for twenty years, first as an ER nurse and then as the evening supervisor on the 3 to 11 shift.

Pauline and her husband were longtime residents of Fremont, NH until his death in January of 1994. She then moved to Exeter until she became reacquainted with a former Groveton high school classmate, Joe Emery. She and Joe enjoyed 16 years together before his passing in 2013. After his death, Pauline moved in with her youngest daughter, Paula, in Derry.

As a family we'd like to thank the Rockingham VNA and Hospice for their compassion, help and overwhelming kindness during the very difficult period before our mother's passing.

We will miss her laughter and the smile that could light up a room.

A celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr., Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
