George C. Dionne, most fondly known as "Poncho", 60, died December 22, 2018 at his home in Brentwood, NH. He was born October 7, 1958 in Exeter, NH, son of the late Philip T. Dionne and Ada (Nichols) Dionne.
Poncho grew up in Epping, NH and was one of six children in his family. He lived in Brentwood, NH for almost 40 years moving there at the age of 22. Many people will tell you how hard of a worker Poncho was as he worked for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator for the State of NH. He also loved rototilling and bush mowing for other people with his own tractor equipment. Poncho even worked while battling his cancer.
He attended the First Baptist Church, Brentwood, NH for years.
His hobbies included traveling, snowmobiling, motorcycling and taking his El Camino to car shows.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila (Sanborn) Dionne, 2 step children, Jeff Croteau and Trisha Nardella, 3 step-grandchildren, Paul, Lester, Dominic, 2 step great-grandchildren, Shawn and Colton, his siblings, Carol Stilson, Rita Foote, Philip Dionne, Albert Dionne and Daniel Dionne, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 201 North Rd., Brentwood, NH.
