Chester "Chet" J. Bryant Sr., 93, passed away on August 4, 2019 at his home in Epping, NH after a period of declining health. He was born November 25, 1925 in Cambridge, MA., son of the late Chester H. Bryant and Isabel (Morrison) Bryant.

Chet was an only child and he grew up in Boston, MA. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably during WWII from 1943-1946. Before the war and after the war, Chet's long career was with the Gillette Co. as a supervisor in the warehouse. On November 8, 1947, he married Mary "Tina" Sheppard. They raised their family in Ashland, MA, Billerica, MA and Chelmsford, MA. They retired to NH, living in Rochester, Farmington and Epping. Chet and Tina spent as much time as they could in Sanbornton, NH at their timeshares. Tina predeceased Chet in 2012.

Chet was a member of Elks Lodge in Tewksbury, MA and the American Legion Post in Epping, NH.

His hobbies included playing horse shoes, pitching for the Gillette Company softball league and gambling. He loved playing the slots and he was a frequent visitor to Las Vegas. Chet's luck and legend will always be remembered for the day he hit two scratch ticket winners at different times of the day-morning and afternoon. What a lucky guy!

He is survived by his daughter, Christine Paglierani, son, Chester J. Bryant Jr., daughter, Jody Messenheimer, daughter, Lorna Sullivan, 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.

A public celebration of his life will be held at the Holy Grail Restaurant, Epping, NH on Saturday August 24 from 11:30 AM to 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
